Dr. Ece Kalafatlar is a plastic surgeon at the Istanbul Aesthetic Center. A graduate of Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine in 2013, she has focused her specialization on plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery, with particular expertise in reconstructive surgery for cleft lip and palate and in rhinoplasty. She practices in Turkish, English, and German.

Training

Dr. Kalafatlar completed her medical studies at Istanbul University Faculty of Medicine from 2007 to 2013. She then undertook her residency in plastic, reconstructive, and aesthetic surgery at the Ministry of Health Istanbul Kartal Dr. Lutfi Kirdar Education and Research Hospital from 2014 to 2019. Alongside her residency, she participated in experimental medicine research at Üsküdar University Istanbul in 2015 and provided microsurgery services at Medeniyet University Istanbul in 2016.

Certifications

In 2015, she was awarded a certificate of animal use in experimental research by Istanbul Üsküdar University. In 2019, upon completion of her residency, she received the EBOPRAS (European Board of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery) Certificate, a high-level European recognition for plastic surgeons.

Clinical Career

Following her initial training in 2013, she practiced as a plastic surgeon at Artvin State Hospital (2013-2014). After her residency, she joined Kars Harakani State Hospital from June 2019 to August 2021, before establishing herself at the Istanbul Aesthetic Center.

Continuing Education and Specialized Courses

Committed to advancing her technical expertise, Dr. Kalafatlar completed the Basic Microsurgery Course at Istanbul Medeniyet University in 2016. In 2017, she attended the 9th International Eurasian Aesthetic Plastic Surgery Course and the 5th Istanbul Advanced Rhinoplasty Course. In 2018, she furthered her training with the Nazim Cerkes Open Rhinoplasty Live Surgery Course, led by one of Turkey's pioneering figures in rhinoplasty.

Congresses and Scientific Publications

She has participated in the 23rd International Medical Sciences Student Congress (2012), the 1st International Participation Stem Cell and Cellular Therapy Congress (2014), the 3rd International Congress of the Turkish Cleft Lip and Palate Society (2016), as well as the National Congresses of the Turkish Society of Plastic Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgery (2014 and 2018) and the Turkish Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (2017 and 2018).

She is a co-author of scientific publications, including a study published in the Journal of Hand Surgery Asian Pacific Volume (2017) on rare penetrating injuries of the upper extremity, and another in Hand Microsurgery (2015) on palmar infections in patients with Dupuytren's disease.

My experience at the Turquie Sante in Istanbul, Türkiye was very professional, efficient and comfortable. My medical assistant Sara has been extremely helpful to me since I contacted this hospital. She was very professional and patient with me whenever I had some misgivings. Sara made my appointment with Dr. Ergin Er and one week ago I had my procedure done and I am totally satisfied.

I must say that Ege, Dr. Ergin's assistant is an absolutely amazing, extremely helpful and very kind person. I met him the morning of my appointment and he immediately put me at ease. He informed me of every step that would be taken and I felt totally comfortable. Frankly the welcome of the staff and doctors was very good!!

As for teeth whitening, I am a little disappointed, the result was not as I imagined, even my family did not notice it and thought it was as if I had not done teeth whitening.

For PRP face I can't judge because I had a few brown spots and tan but I noticed that the spots decreased a little.

Everything went well, until the anesthetist and the surgeon decided not to operate on me because of completely curcumin-based food. I was upset but afterwards I told myself that he had been very careful of me. So thank you to them for putting the health of their patient first. I return to Turkey in December to finalize my operation without taking curcumin of course ????. Congratulations again for everything and see you soon

Happy with the operation but there could be a little more privacy in the clinic - people would randomly come into the room without knocking and you could easily overhear doctors having private conversations with other patients. Hotel was very comfortable, taxi from the airport was a little bit late.
