Dt. Umur Arıkan is one of the three co-founders of Dentakademi, one of Istanbul's most recognized oral and dental health centers. A graduate of Gazi University Faculty of Dentistry in Ankara in 1994, he brings over thirty years of clinical practice across diverse settings, from public polyclinics to the co-direction of a leading private institution.

Training and Early Career

Dt. Arıkan completed his dental education at Gazi University between 1989 and 1994, a major public institution nationally recognized for the quality of its medical training. Upon graduation, he opened his own clinic in Afyon from 1994 to 1997, before joining the Maltepe Public Polyclinics in Istanbul, where he practiced as a dentist from 1998 to 2007. He then returned to private practice in his own Istanbul clinic from 2007 to 2013.

Co-Founder of Dentakademi (2013)

In 2013, together with Dr Göker Taşkınsu and Dr Emrah İpek, he co-founded Dentakademi Oral and Dental Healthcare Center in Maltepe, on the Asian side of Istanbul. The 2,500 m² facility holds ISO 9001:2015 certification and is ranked among the top ten dental clinics worldwide by the Global Clinic Rating out of 126,000 participating clinics. In 2017, Dentakademi also opened a branch in Norway, and in 2018 received the Best Dental Hospital award in the "Best of Turkey" distinctions.

Areas of Expertise

Dt. Arıkan specializes in oral diagnosis, aesthetic dentistry, implantology, root canal treatment, and gingival health. He has treated numerous international patients, including those from Saudi Arabia and other countries. He practices in Turkish and English.

Congresses and Continuing Education

Committed to keeping his knowledge current, he regularly attends national and international congresses, including the FDI 101st Annual World Dental Congress in Istanbul in 2013, the Turkish Dental Association 23rd International Congress in 2017, the 20th Annual Uludağ Dental Conferences in Bursa in 2011, the 12th International Dental Congress in Izmir, and the AÇBİD International Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Society Congress in Antalya in 2010.
