Our editorial policy

Turquie Santé is an international guidance and assistance platform for patients considering medical care or surgery in Turkey. We publish information about medical procedures, facilities, and practitioners.
This information directly affects our readers' health and financial decisions. This charter explains how we produce, verify, and update our content and what you can expect from our support.

Who are we?

Turquie Santé's mission is to inform and guide international patients at every stage of their healthcare journey in Turkey. Our content is published in five languages and aims to present medical information in a clear, accessible, and objective way for a non-specialist audience.

Our role and its limits

Turquie Santé acts as an information platform, a matchmaking service, and a provider of logistical support.

  • What we are not: We are neither a healthcare facility nor a medical prescriber.
  • What we do not do: We perform no clinical procedures, make no diagnoses, and do not choose one treatment over another on the patient's behalf.

Every therapeutic decision rests with the patient and the physicians responsible for their care.

Our funding

The platform is free for patients, and Turquie Santé charges no support fees. The patient pays the clinic that performs the procedure directly, on the basis of a personalized quote.

Turquie Santé is paid by its partner clinics, which pay us a commission when a patient who came through our platform receives treatment at their facility. This commission is not billed to the patient and has no influence on the medical content of our articles.

Our support

Beyond providing information, Turquie Santé directs patients to specialists suited to their situation and follows up with them. Medical coordinators accompany patients in Turkey and assist them until they have recovered.

If a procedure fails due to the clinic or the specialist, Turquie Santé guarantees that the patient's rights are upheld, including the possibility of having the procedure redone free of charge.

Our editorial commitments

To provide reliable and impartial medical information, we apply writing rules based on human expertise and source verification. Five principles guide our work.

  • Accuracy: We rely on identified sources recognized by the scientific community, and we correct any error that is reported or confirmed.
  • Transparency: We state who we are, how our support works, where our data comes from, and when each page was last updated.
  • Neutrality: We present expected benefits and risks in a balanced way, and we promise no results.
  • Accountability: Every published piece of content is the responsibility of our editorial team and the physicians who review it.
  • Patient interest: In case of doubt or medical uncertainty, we favor caution and complete information over commercial arguments.

Content covered by this charter

Not all Turquie Santé content pursues the same goal or relies on the same sources. We therefore distinguish general medical information from information specific to our partner facilities and practitioners.

Content Purpose Nature of the information Main source of data
Treatment articles Present a procedure, its indications, risks and prices General medical information, with prices from our partners Scientific and medical sources, quotes from partner clinics
Health blog articles Inform about diseases, symptoms, prevention and innovations General medical information Scientific and medical sources
Clinic profiles Present a partner facility Specific to the facility Documents provided by the clinic, checks by our team
Doctor CVs Present the background and expertise of a partner physician Specific to the physician Documents provided by the physician, checks by our team

Medical articles and treatment pages describe general knowledge that is valid regardless of the facility chosen. Clinic profiles and doctor profiles describe specific partners and rely on information and documents specific to each of them.

How do we choose our topics?

We choose our topics based on the questions patients ask, the queries they express when requesting assistance, and public interest in certain health themes.

Analysis of searches and keywords helps us identify readers' concerns and use their vocabulary. It never determines the substance or medical rigor of an article.

  • Source requirement: We do not cover a topic when we lack sufficiently solid scientific and medical sources.
  • No promise of results: We rule out promises of guaranteed results or absolute effectiveness.
  • No unfounded comparisons: We do not publish comparisons of facilities, techniques or results that we cannot document.

Who writes and who verifies our content?

Every treatment article and every health blog article goes through two stages: writing and structuring by our editorial team, then medical review by a qualified healthcare professional before publication.

Writing

Our content is written by authors on our editorial team who specialize in health. The author is named at the top or bottom of each article or procedure page, along with the date of initial writing or last revision.

Review by a healthcare professional

All our articles on medical and surgical treatments, as well as our health blog articles, are reviewed by a physician or qualified specialist before going online. This review covers:

  • The accuracy of indications and contraindications.
  • The clarity of how the procedure is carried out.
  • The completeness of the list of possible risks and complications.
  • The neutrality of the presentation of expected results.

Each reviewed article displays the name, medical specialty and role of the healthcare professional who carried out the review.

This review does not constitute personalized medical advice and does not replace a consultation.

Our sources of information

We select sources based on the quality and traceability of the data.

For medical articles and treatment pages

Our medical content relies on scientific references and internationally recognized health databases:

  • Scientific publications and research: articles from leading biomedical databases, such as PubMed or NCBI.
  • Health organizations and authorities: recommendations and reports from official bodies, such as the World Health Organization (WHO) or the French National Authority for Health (HAS).
  • Learned societies and medical journals: recommendations and consensus statements from specialized medical associations and peer-reviewed journals, for example ISAPS (International Society of Aesthetic Plastic Surgery) or SOFCPRE for plastic surgery.

We do not use discussion forums, anonymous testimonials, non-specialist blogs or advertising content as medical reference sources.

For clinic profiles and doctor profiles

The information on these pages comes directly from the administrative and medical documents provided by our partner facilities and practitioners. It undergoes a systematic verification procedure before any publication.

How do we verify information about partner clinics and doctors?

Our medical coordinators verify the accreditations, qualifications and official authorizations of clinics and practitioners before they are listed on the platform. They are also the ones who then accompany patients in Turkey.

For a partner clinic, our teams check:

  • Licenses and legal authorizations: the approvals issued by the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Turkey, in particular those authorizing the facility to receive international patients.
  • International accreditations: the validity of the certifications claimed, with the bodies that issue them, for example JCI (Joint Commission International) or the ISO standards applicable to healthcare facilities.
  • Facilities and compliance: verification of the facility's physical existence, of the compliance of equipment (operating rooms, intensive care/resuscitation units) and of the rigor of hygiene and asepsis protocols. This check relies both on the analysis of official audit reports and on regular on-site visits by our medical coordinators based in Turkey.

For a partner physician or surgeon, our teams check:

  • Academic qualifications: the authenticity of the medical degree and of the specialization (plastic surgery, stomatology, hair transplantation, etc.).
  • Right to practice and official registration: registration with the Turkish Medical Association (Türk Tabipleri Birliği, TTB) and, depending on the specialty, membership of the corresponding learned society, for example the TPRECD (Türk Plastik, Rekonstrüktif ve Estetik Cerrahi Derneği) for plastic surgery.
  • Institutional affiliation: confirmation of the physician's right to practice within the partner clinic where they operate.

Transparency and limits of verification

  • Accreditations that cannot be verified: When an accreditation or distinction claimed by a facility cannot be independently verified by our teams, it is presented with the mention "According to the facility's statements" and is not indicated as verified by Turquie Santé.
  • Frequency of checks: Administrative and institutional checks are renewed at least once a year, or as soon as a change in license or equipment is reported to us.
  • Scope of verification: It covers the official documents and authorizations available at the time of the check. It concerns the legal status and qualifications of our partners. It does not constitute a medical guarantee of the individual outcome of a future procedure, which is a matter of the relationship between the surgeon and the patient.

Our pricing policy

The prices published on Turquie Santé are based on actual quotes provided by our partner clinics. Since medical and surgical procedures are personalized, the final cost varies according to each patient's profile and needs. We therefore most often publish an indicative price range rather than a single price.

  • Value of the prices displayed: The prices on the site are indicative. Only the personalized quote, drawn up by the clinic's medical team after evaluating your file, is binding.
  • What packages generally include: Unless otherwise stated, the quotes from our partner clinics include the surgical procedure, the fees of the medical team (surgeon, anesthesiologist), hospitalization costs, medication related to the procedure on site, and local logistical support (transfers between the airport, the clinic and the hotel, and hotel accommodation).
  • What is generally excluded: International plane tickets, preoperative examinations not included in the basic package, and personal expenses remain the patient's responsibility.
  • Currency: Prices are shown in euros (€) or in the currency displayed on the page, based on prevailing exchange rates.

Content updates

We update our publications to maintain their accuracy, relevance and the safety of the information. A page is updated when one of the following events occurs:

  • Medical developments: changes in the recommendations of health authorities or advances in the scientific literature.
  • Price changes: new price lists sent by our partner clinics.
  • Institutional changes: changes in the equipment, services, accreditations or medical team of a partner clinic or practitioner.
  • Reports: detection of a typographical, factual or technical error by our team or by a reader.

Each page shows its date of last update. Content that has become obsolete or outdated is corrected or removed as soon as we become aware of it.

What we refuse to publish?

To preserve the reliability of our content, we apply the following rules.

  • We do not publish photos of nudity.
  • We do not publish information that we have not been able to verify.
  • We do not publish before/after photos without the patient's explicit consent.
  • We promise no results, and we do not publish comparisons of facilities, techniques or results that we cannot document.
  • We do not use forums, anonymous testimonials, non-specialist blogs or advertising content as medical reference sources.
  • We do not arbitrarily delete authentic negative reviews.
  • We do not direct a patient solely on the basis of a commercial criterion.

Testimonials, reviews and before/after photos

"Before/After" photos

We publish before/after photographs only after obtaining the informed and explicit consent of the patients concerned, with absolute respect for their anonymity and privacy. These visuals illustrate individual, real clinical cases; they in no way constitute a guarantee of a similar result for another patient, since each body responds differently to a surgical procedure.

Patient reviews and feedback

The reviews published come from patients who have used our guidance and support services. They are collected on our platform or through independent third-party services (Google and Trustpilot).

We keep and publish authentic reviews, whether positive or negative, as long as they comply with the rules of courtesy and contain neither defamatory statements nor content contrary to the law. We do not arbitrarily delete negative reviews: this feedback also helps us improve the follow-up offered with our partner clinics.

Patient Stories

We also publish video or written accounts, called Patient Stories. They are voluntarily submitted by patients who recount their care journey in Turkey, from their arrival to their return home, without any financial compensation from us. These are personal testimonials: they constitute neither medical information nor a promise of results.

Errors, corrections and reports

If you spot an error or information that seems inaccurate or outdated to you, write to us at assistance@turquiesante.com or via our contact form, specifying the page concerned and the problem identified.

Our team examines every report. As soon as an error is confirmed, the page is corrected immediately and its update date is refreshed. For a major change, an explanatory note may be added.

Partner clinics and doctors also have the same right of rectification for the information concerning them.

Translations and multilingual adaptation

Turquie Santé is available in five languages: French, English, Arabic, Russian and Spanish:

  • Reference language: French is the source and reference language for all our content.
  • Translation method and quality control: the translation of our articles relies on a hybrid method, combining AI tools for initial structuring with systematic human review by translators specialized in health. Content of high medical value undergoes rigorous checking by our scientific review team to ensure the accuracy of the terminology in each language.
  • Cultural and local adaptation: adapting content from one language to another may include practical adjustments (currency conversion, logistical arrangements specific to the patient's country of origin). However, scientific data and medical information remain strictly identical and unaltered from one language to another.

Use of artificial intelligence

We may use artificial intelligence tools as an aid for writing, structuring and translating our content, or for optimizing certain illustrative visuals.

Content generated or assisted by AI is never published without rigorous review and verification by a human team. For all medical content, this validation necessarily includes a scientific review by a qualified healthcare professional.

AI remains a mere support tool: overall editorial responsibility and data verification remain entirely with our team.

Limits and medical disclaimer

The information published on Turquie Santé is provided for informational purposes. It does not replace a consultation, a diagnosis or personalized medical advice. Every care decision must be made with a physician who knows your file.

Every medical procedure carries risks. Seeking treatment abroad adds specific considerations, such as travel, length of stay and follow-up after the procedure. We invite you to discuss these with your doctor before making a decision.
